Directions from Seattle to 8751 Icicle Road, Leavenworth, WA (via Snoqualmie or Stevens Pass)


You have two scenic routes to reach Leavenworth from Seattle: 


Snoqualmie Pass (faster - better route in winter typically) or 

Stevens Pass (more scenic, ideal in summer or daylight hours).


Route 1: Via Snoqualmie Pass (I-90 & US-97) – Fastest Route (~2.5 hours, 135 miles)

  1. Start in Seattle
  • Get on I-5 North and take Exit 168B to merge onto WA-520 East toward Bellevue.
  1. Take I-90 East
  • Merge onto I-405 North (Exit 10A) toward Everett.
  • Take Exit 11 for I-90 East toward Spokane and continue on I-90 for about 65 miles.
  1. Take Exit 85 for WA-970 North
  • Merge onto WA-970 East and follow it for about 10 miles.
  1. Merge onto US-97 North (Blewett Pass)
  • Follow US-97 North for 35 miles, winding through Blewett Pass.
  • At the junction with US-2, turn left onto US-2 West toward Leavenworth.
  • Continue for 20 miles into downtown Leavenworth.
  1. Turn Left onto Icicle Road
  • At the Safeway traffic light, turn left onto Icicle Road.
  • Drive 3.3 miles to 8751 Icicle Road, which will be on your left.


Route 2: Via Stevens Pass (US-2) – More Scenic (~2.75 hours, 120 miles)


  1. Start in Seattle
  • Take I-5 North to Exit 164A for I-405 North toward Bellevue/Everett.
  • Follow I-405 for about 12 miles and take Exit 23 for WA-522 East toward US-2/Wenatchee.
  1. Follow WA-522 East to US-2
  • Merge onto WA-522 East toward Monroe (about 14 miles).
  • In Monroe, merge onto US-2 East toward Stevens Pass.
  1. Drive Over Stevens Pass
  • Follow US-2 for about 80 miles, passing through Skykomish and over Stevens Pass (elevation 4,061 ft).
  • Enjoy breathtaking views of rivers, waterfalls, and mountain peaks.
  1. Arrive in Leavenworth
  • Continue on US-2 past Tumwater Canyon into downtown Leavenworth.
  1. Turn Right onto Icicle Road
  • At the Safeway traffic light, turn right onto Icicle Road.
  • Drive 3.3 miles to 8751 Icicle Road, which will be on your left.

Which Route should I take to Leavenworth from Seattle?


  • Snoqualmie/Blewett Pass (I-90 & US-97): Best for winter travel, faster, and fewer curves.
  • Stevens Pass (US-2): More scenic, better for daytime drives (snowy in winter, may have delays).
